About Amanda Jane
Have you always wanted to be a therapist?
While my initial career aspirations did not revolve around becoming a therapist, my personal journey into therapy two decades ago was a transformative experience for me. Faced with challenges while trying to start a family, having counselling became a pivotal moment, inspiring me to delve into the field of counselling.
It wasn’t until many years later having witnessed the profound impact counselling had on my own life, I discovered my “calling” to provide first-hand support and understanding to others, shaping my path as a passionate qualified counsellor and advocate for women’s health and well-being.
Is there a minimum number of sessions a client needs to have with you?
There is no one-size-fits-all in counselling. I adapt to each individual’s needs, offering both short-term and long-term sessions based on the client’s preferences and progress. Each journey is unique, and I support individuals accordingly.
Do you work with children as well as adults?
Within my private practice, I specialise in working with individuals aged 18 plus providing a tailored and confidential space for adults to explore their concerns, thoughts and feelings.
While my primary focus is on adult counselling, I also serve as a school counsellor at a local secondary school. I’m always open to supporting young people on an as-needed basis, and happy to offer counselling sessions to young people when requested.
