King’s Coronation Events Around Maidenhead

If you are looking for King’s coronation events around Windsor and Maidenhead, then we have a round up of what’s on locally. With celebrations and coronation themed activities for the weekend. Note that some are ticketed events so do check before attending – we are not associated with the organising of events.

 

Saturday 6th May

The King’s coronation takes place at Westminster Abbey. The ceremony starts at 11am and ends at 1pm. There will be screens on the Long Walk Windsor for the local community from 10am for a limited number of residents to watch the televised event. This is not a ticketed event, but it is subject to capacity.

There will be coronation celebrations at Norden Farm, starting with the screening of the coronation between 10:15am – 4pm next to the cafe bar. This is free to attend.

Norden Farm outdoor market will be between 12pm – 4pm. There will be stalls with crafts, arts, food and drink and there will also be live music. Free entry.

There will be coronation day crown making workshops, led by Jess Thompson in the long barn at Norden Farm. Crowns will be made out of recycled materials with collage, paint and oil pastels. The workshops will take place at 2pm, 2:30pm, 3pm and 3:30pm. £3 per child and £2 per adult.

In the evening there will be a Coronation Ceilidh at Norden Farm from 7:30pm taking place in the long barn. Tickets are £16.

There will be a coronation celebration at Uncle Tom’s Cabin in Cookham Dean from 3pm. There will be live music from Funkin Souled Out and Panic Lounge, street food, BBQ and drinks. Tickets are £8 before the event, £10 on the door. Kids go free.

Coronation picnic in the park at Stanlake Meadow Twyford. There will be a bar, food and icecream throughout the day. The screening of the coronation will be shown between 10am – 1:30pm. Then the screening of Disney Encanto will be later between 4pm – 6pm. Live music from BoxSet. Free entry.

Celebrations at the Maidenhead and Bray Cricket Club, Bray. With live music from The Tonic from 8:30pm, food from 7:30pm. Late bar.

King’s coronation celebrations on Burnham Village Green between 2pm – 6pm. There will be food and drink vendors, a bar, strawberries and cream, live performances on stage, a bouncy castle and face painting. Free event, but it is encouraged to buy from the vendors.

The Marlow May Fayre/King’s Coronation will take place in Higginson Park Marlow, between 11am – 5pm. Free entry. The coronation will be shown on the big screen, plus rides, face painting, entertainment and the famous duck race on the Thames. People are invited to bring a picnic.

 

Sunday 7th May

Everyone is invited to bring picnics on the Long Walk, Windsor as part of the Coronation Big Lunch. It will take place in the community area between 12pm – 6pm. There will be community performances organised by the Windsor Platinum Jubilee Committee on a small stage. The event will be opened by the town crier Chris Brown at 12pm.

The Coronation Concert in the grounds of Windsor Castle will be live at 8pm – 10pm. This is a ticketed event (ticket holders have been allocated their tickets) but it will be broadcast live on the BBC.

There will be a picnic on the Cookham Moor, 12pm – 4pm. It is a free event where you can take your own picnic, picnic blanket and chairs. There will be live music, food and drink, kids corner, bake off competition, raffle, competitions and more.

The Craufurd Arms King of Vinyl Coronation Party, 2pm – late. With DJs, drinks and BBQ.

 

Monday 8th May

There will be a Coronation Family Funday at Oaken Grove Park between 1pm – 5pm. Stalls, refreshments, children’s rides, raffles, inflatables and more. **Postponed to June**
