Haven’t Stopped Dancing Yet Disco Night at Norden Farm – Review

Haven’t Stopped Dancing Yet is the ultimate 70’s and 80’s disco night. These party nights pop up in various locations such as London and Croydon – and recently they came to Norden Farm in Maidenhead for the first time!

I was lucky to be gifted tickets to attend, and the evening didn’t disappoint. I took my disco-loving friend along – who I knew would just love it, and of course we made sure we were dressed for the occasion. I wore a gold sequinned jumpsuit, gold sunglasses and big crimped hair to get into the mood. Although dressing up was an option, many went with either the 70’s or 80’s disco theme.

 About Haven’t Stopped Dancing Yet

Haven’t Stopped Dancing Yet founder Nikki set up her disco nights as she wanted to create a fun, non-judgmental club night for everyone to enjoy. Led by a dancer and a DJ (we had dancer Lady Boo and DJ Lady G at Norden Farm) as well as Nikki herself, the crowd are encouraged to get down to some feel-good 70’s and 80’s soul, funk, disco classics.

Dancing and Fancy Dress Prizes

When we arrived at Norden Farm, we got our drinks from the bar, and headed to the main courtyard theatre, where in the past I’ve watched theatre shows, tribute bands and films. But this time, the theatre had been transformed into nightclub. The seats had been removed to reveal a dance floor, and the stage was set for Nikki, Lady Boo and DJ Lady G. All complete with disco lights, funky tunes and a giant glitter ball on the big screen.

Immediately people were up dancing, as there were very familiar tunes playing. Most people were dressed up in retro gear or accessories, and some were in full-on fancy dress costumes.

After around an hour of dancing, Lady Boo got on stage to show us some moves to join in to. We danced to the Car Wash, Abba and Whitney Houston. She led four or five songs initially, then came back on stage later on in the evening to liven up the audience.

Throughout the evening, ice-pops were handed out, sweets were put out on tables and Nikki went around the crowd judging the fancy dress competition.

Those selected to take part in the fancy dress competition (including an Adam Ant look-a-like, some impressive wigs, sparkly flares and leg warmers) were then asked to do a dance-off for a first, second and third prize. Prizes included tickets for HSDY and boxes of Maltesers.

Fun for Anyone

This was a definitely a disco experience like no other. The atmosphere was fun, lively and really friendly – with people of all ages joining in together to enjoy their Saturday night.

Norden Farm is a lovely intimate venue, and it was a great night all round. I would definitely get the girls together and do this again.

If you would like to find out more about these disco nights and what else they offer, then head to the Haven’t Stopped Dancing Yet website.

They have already announced that they will be returning to Norden Farm in the Spring of 2024.
