Maidenhead has a selection of play parks to choose from. The larger parks have green space for exercise and ball games, as well as play areas for children. Ray Mill Island
Ray Mill Island is close to Riverside Gardens and Boulters Lock. As you head over the bridge at Boulters, you will discover a lovely area where you can have a picnic or walk along the river. There are guinea pigs and bird aviaries which are free to visit and a cafe with an outdoor seating area – perfect for icecreams and refreshments. You can even sit by the lock as you come back over the bridge and watch the boats.

Braywick Nature Reserve
Follow the Nature Trail around the Braywick Nature reserve to discover trees, wildflowers, minibeasts and birds. Part of the trail is a reclaimed landfill site which includes a pond, grassland and woodland. You can find the trail map on the Wild Maidenhead website

Norden Farm Centre for the Arts
There are always plenty of things happening during the half term at Norden Farm. Take a look at the Norden Farm website for activities, workshops, theatre, cinema and more. You can head to the cafe bar for food and drinks and look out for the beach at Norden Farm in the summer holidays!

BCA Zoo
BCA Zoo is within the grounds of BCA college, and opens to the public at weekends and some days through the holidays. They also have family zoo days on the last Saturday of the month throughout the summer.

Maidenhead Library
The Maidenhead Library often has special activities taking place during the half term which are usually free. Head to the RBWM Libraries Facebook Page for updates. You can also use your Advantage Card in the Rio Deli cafe to get 20% off hot drinks, pastries, baguettes, pasta bakes and more.
There are also pretty colour change fountains in Library Square with a seating area around them.

The Maidenhead Heritage Centre
Situated in the heart of Maidenhead is the Heritage Centre, which is a local museum. Learn about the history of Maidenhead, fly the spitfire simulator flying experience, dress up like a Roman Gladiator, build your own bridge or investigate the children’s toy box. Maidenhead Mini Golf
The Maidenhead Mini Golf has a fun dinosaur theme. There are 18 holes and it’s open weekdays and weekends all year round. There is free customer parking and an amazing dessert parlour inside the club house, with icecreams, waffles and milkshakes. Indoor and outdoor seating.

Swimming at Braywick Leisure Centre
Family swimming at the Braywick Leisure Centre is available for members and non members. There are two pools – one of which is a family pool. There is a slide, water tipping buckets, interactive water features and a large spa pool. Check out the Braywick Leisure Centre website to book.

The Maidenhead to Marlow Train
Take the kids on the ‘Marlow Donkey’ for a day out to Marlow. Go from platform 5 at Maidenhead Station and take the train to Marlow. It takes just over 20 minutes and it stops at Furze Platt and Cookham along the way. When you arrive, you can spend the day by the river or at Higginson Park. A great day out with the kids!

Odeon Luxe

Absolutely Karting Maidenhead
Absolutely Karting is an indoor Go Karting track and the UK’s home of ‘Glow Karting’ – with a neon, UV and light show in the dark!
The Go Karting is for anyone such as groups and parties. Children can race from the age of 8 years. Children between 8 and 14 race in special karts that don’t go as fast as adult karts.
