Free Friday Softball Sessions

Head along to Newlands Girls School, Farm Road, Maidenhead, SL6 5JB on Friday evenings at 18:00 – 19:30 to try out Softball! It’s something different, social and active – and these weekly Softball sessions introduce the sport through a series of fun activities and games.

Everyone is welcome (minimum age of 14) and no experience of Softball is needed. Sessions are run by qualified coaches and all you need is to come in your indoor sports attire. It’ll be held in the hall, with free parking in front of the school.

There will be artisan crafts, food and drink from local sellers. Free entry.

Chinese New Year Parade

The annual Chinese Lunar New Year Lion Dance parade will take place on Maidenhead High Street, starting at the Boy and the Boat statue at 12:30pm on Saturday 10th February.

This year marks the year of the dragon, and students from the Eagle Claw Maidenhead Kung Fu school will be performing.

 Lunar New Year Craft Market and Kids Crafts

The Craft Coop will be setting up a craft market in the Nicholson Centre for the Lunar New Year on Saturday 10th February between 10am – 4pm.

In addition to the indoor craft market, there will be free kids crafts between 10:30am – 12:30pm – no booking required.

Community Orchard Pruning Day

Hosted by Braywick Nature Centre, this will take place at Ockwells Park on Saturday 10th February between 10am – 1pm.

Meet in the carpark, where the guided session will take place nearby. Dress warmly with strudy shoes and bring your gardening gloves, sterilised secateurs and a hand saw if possible (these can be cleaned with antibac gel).

Little Red Riding Hood

The performance of Little Red Riding Hood will be at Cox Green Community Centre on Saturday 10th February at 2:30pm and 7:30pm and Sunday 11th February at 2:30pm.

Get your tickets by calling 01628 636715. Matinee: Adults £7 or seniors/children under 16 £4. Evening performance: Adults £8 or seniors/children 10-16 £7.

The monthly Repair Cafe returns to the Eco Action Hub in the Nicholson Centre on Saturday 10th February 10am – 3pm. **Sold Out

This is a free event where repair coaches will teach you how to mend your broken household items. These include textiles, woodwork, small electrical items, dolls and more.

The monthly Farmer’s Market returns to Grove Road Carpark, on Sunday 11th February between 9:30am – 1pm.

There will be local produce, quality meat, dairy, bakery, preserves and more.

Head to the Windsor Great Park Educational Centre, SL4 2BY on Monday 12th, Tuesday 13th and Wednesday 14th February, 10am – 2pm for a self-led trail around the wonderful woodland and meadow to learn about the wonders of bugs.

Last entry is 1pm and booking is essential. Children £8, adults free.

Local businesses enter their teams to win the pancake race for the winner’s shield.
